Year 5 blog:

Year 5 has had an incredible half-term full of creativity, learning, and hard work. We recently put on a fantastic performance of the Stations of the Cross, where we performed freeze frames, readings, and drama in front of parents. It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase what we have been practicing, and we are grateful to everyone who came to watch. We look forward to seeing you all again next year!

In DT, we had a fantastic time building suspension bridges using just the materials available in the classroom. It was so much fun to design our bridges, create them, and then test them by seeing how many toy cars they could hold! Throughout the process, we explored the science behind why bridges are built in certain ways to prevent them from collapsing. By following a design process of Analysis → Investigation → Design → Evaluation, we learned which shapes and structures are the strongest, and we were able to incorporate our findings into our own unique bridge designs.
