Zambia Pen Pals
At the end of last year, pupils wrote letters to Eneless Patmos School in Lusaka, Zambia as part of our 'pen pal' project, to learn more about Zambian and African culture.
The children at Eneless Patmos School received our letters just after the summer holidays - look how excited they look! The school have confirmed that the children were absolutely delighted to hear from their counterparts in Lymington. They have written letters back to our pupils, but have been waiting for us to return after the summer break before sending them, so they should be with us soon!
We have told the school all about our 'Zumba for Zambia' initiative across the partnership, which will be used to fund musical instruments for the school. The school are planning a big 'open event' once the musical instruments arrive, to encourage children from Lusaka to see what the school has to offer. We will update you with the final total from across the partnership in due course! The staff and students at Eneless Patmos School have asked if we can design some posters to promote the importance of schooling and to showcase the instruments, which we will design this half term and send to the school.
The pupils were very impressed with the 'Zumba' dancing we carried out and sent a video of their own dancing back - isn't it wonderful? Pupils at Eneless Patmos School have named their school choir "Our Lady & St Joseph School Choir" after us, which is such an honour.
