Year 1 blog:

Year 1 have had a fantastic start to the year! They are all well settled into life in Year 1 and all the children are enjoying our Autumn topics. 

The children have enjoyed writing their own ‘scary pirate’ character descriptions. During our writing lessons, we have been exploring different pirate features and powerful adjectives to describe these. The children have created some superb masterpieces.

In our Geography lessons , we have been learning all about maps! We have practised using a compass to navigate around different areas in school. We have also been practising using key map skills such as scaling and creating keys. We are looking forward to applying our knowledge to create our very own treasure maps for the Year R children to explore.

In our Science lessons , we have been learning all about our human bodies! As a class we have conducted several experiments to help us understand why our bodies are so amazing. We have particularly enjoyed experimenting with taking away our senses.
