Year R blog:
What a ROARSOME day we have had in Year R as we became Paleontologists to follow in the footsteps of Mary Anning.
In History, we began by learning all about the life of the famous paleontologist, Mary Anning and her famous discoveries. Next, we explored some real life Fossils which were kindly loaned to us by the St Barbe Museum. After that, we carried out our own Fossil Excavation in the sand pit where we made a number of staggering discoveries. We used our learning in Maths to measure the bones we discovered using rulers and tape measures.
In Expressive Arts and Design, we used our knowledge of malleable materials to create our own Fossils using Salt Dough.
It was a day full of fun, laughter, learning and so many new discoveries. Well done, Year R! We are extremely proud of you!
