Poetry Day
Poetry Day
On Thursday 6 October we celebrated National Poetry Day! The theme this year was 'The Environment'. Using our work earlier in the week from our Greenpeace assembly, the children wrote and performed some beautiful poems around this theme.
Watch this space to see the finished poetry - we will be collating an anthology from across the partnership! Here is a sneak peek of some of our OLSJ poems - a beautiful poem by Lydia in Year 2 about the Rainbow Fish and a beautiful video from Year 1, showcasing their environmental poem.
Libby & Immi in Year 3 also have written some beautiful poetry - their take on 'The Magic Box', called 'My Perfect World'.
Year R also learned the nursery rhyme 'Humpty Dumpty' as part of their poetry work - they built a wall using the words in the poem and then knocked it down! Isn't their video lovely?
