Zambia Update
We are so pleased to announce that we have raised more than £1000 across the partnership through our "Zumba for Zambia" initiative! All money raised will be sent to Eneless Patmos School in Lusaka, Zambia, where the proceeds will be used to purchase musical instruments for pupils. The school also intend to take the instruments out into the local community to encourage orphaned and homeless children to attend lessons at Eneless Patmos and to learn to play an instrument. Thank you so much for your generosity and support. We will update you with photographs once the instruments have been purchased.
School Governor Roger Maughan is currently out in Lusaka and has donated school uniforms to Eneless Patmos School. Don't the pupils look smart - and in OLSJ colours too! Roger is currently taking part in a cycle ride for the charity 'Footprints Foundation for Children in Zambia' and has raised more than £5000! He is riding 650km from Lusaka to Botswana. What an inspiration!
Last term, Years 4, 5 and 6 took part in a pen pal project with Eneless Patmos School and wrote letters to the pupils in Lusaka. The pupils have now written back and the letters will be given to Roger to bring back to Lymington! We can't wait to receive them!
