Year 4 blog:
Year 4 had a fantastic History Hook Day, where the classroom transformed into a world of ancient civilizations! The children arrived dressed as Romans, Egyptians, and Greek Gods, bringing their history topics to life with togas, pharaoh headdresses, and mythical costumes.
In the morning, the children explored Roman numerals, learning how Romans used letters like I, V, and X for numbers, linking to our Maths curriculum! In the afternoon, they studied Roman battle formations, especially the famous "Testudo" shield wall, and practiced these tactics together.
The dress-up made the day extra special, helping the children step into the shoes of historical figures and experience history in a creative, hands-on way. It was a memorable day full of learning, imagination, and fun!
