Year 3 blog:
Year 3 have made a fantastic start to the year. We've all done a fantastic job adjusting to our new classes and routines and getting right to work. It is amazing to witness such enthusiasm and love for our subject areas of study.
Inspired by Fantastic Mr. Fox's Boggis, Bunce, and Bean in English, we have been crafting character profiles for their own farmer. Some of our farmers are quite interesting and distinctive, yet they sound the worst. Definitely not someone you would want growing your vegetables.
Everyone in our history lessons has demonstrated such a compassionate and grown-up degree of empathy for the hardships certain significant individuals go through throughout their lifetimes. We have discussed global themes like racism and race in connection to Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole's different levels of recognition and treatment.
After that, we studied Walter Tull's pioneering life and legacy. We have been studying rocks and fossils in our science lessons. We have investigated the various forms of rocks and how they are formed. We discovered some amazing fossils. Without a certain, rocks are not boring!
